Honda Celebrates 50 Years Of Racing With Marquez & Pedrosa
Honda celebrates 50 years of racing in the premier class of motorcycle racing. To celebrate this occasion Honda had its current MotoGP machine pose with its very first race machine. Japanese-based manufacturer will be celebrating its 50th anniversary of racing at Motegi GP.
Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa were seen posing with Honda's race machine. The duo will be celebrating their 50th race anniversary at the Twin Ring Motegi circuit. Honda showcased the RC181 and the RC213V race machines at a special event.
The first time Honda took part in Grand Prix racing was back in 1959. Honda took part in the 125cc class at the Isle of Man TT. Their first victory came in the second year and they won their first world championship in 1966. During this same period, they entered the 500cc class as well.
Till date Honda has secured 277 wins in the 500cc/MotoGP class. Honda has also won 38 constructor and rider championships over the last 50 years. The RC181 race machine contributed in Honda's clean sweep across all five classes - 50cc, 125cc, 250cc, 350cc, and 500cc.
