Honda Activa No.1 Selling Two-Wheeler For 6 Months Straight

The Activa scooter from Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is their top-selling two-wheeler. Now the Honda Activa has managed to stay as the number one selling two-wheeler in India for six months straight. It has beaten the dominance of motorcycles in the Indian market.

During January to June 2016, Honda managed to sell 13,38,105 units of the Activa scooter. Closest competition motorcycle could only manage selling 12,33,725 units of the motorcycle in the same period. Honda Activa currently contributes to fifteen percent of total sales in India.

The first generation Honda Activa was launched back in 2001. Since then the scooter has been the best selling two-wheeler for Honda India. In 2001, Honda managed to sell 55,000 Activa models and it currently sells over 2.46 million scooters per year.

Currently, Honda Motorcycle Scooters India offers three variants of the Activa scooter. Honda's range includes the Activa i, Activa 3G, and Activa 125. The Japanese-based two-wheeler manufacturer also offers the Dio and Aviator models in India.
