The 2016 Oilibya Rally Morocco: Hero MotoSports Team And CS Santosh Update
The Oilibya Rally Morocco 2016 is the last of the preparatory races that the Hero MotoSports Rally Team will have a chance to compete in, ahead of the 2017 Dakar Rally.
The prologue stage started off in Agadir with a seven kilometre route. Both riders, CS Santosh and Joaquim Rodrigues (J-Rod) performed really well, with J-Rod finishing in the 12th place overall, and CS Santosh finishing the day in the 26th place.
The winner of the prologue stage was this year's Dakar winner, Australian Toby Price, astride his KTM.
Commenting on the seven kilometer long stage, CS Santosh said, "I knew I had to get through it without any problems. That's what I tried to do. I made a small mistake a few hundred metres into the stage."
"I recovered after that and caught another rider. Today was just a five-minute dash and I can't really complain. We'll see where we can progress when the rally really starts."
Hero MotoSports Team Manager, Wolfgang Fischer, commented saying, "There was some dust, other than that, our riders had no problems."
"It's good to see J-Rod in the Top 15 and also CS is in a decent position. Everyone here at Hero MotoSports Team Rally is looking forward to the first desert stage."
On day 2, CS Santosh and J-Rod face the real heat of the rally, with the 120km long race on the opening stage called the 'Loop of Agadir'.
