2016 Afriquia Merzouga Rally: Stage 2 Results & CS Santosh Updates

Stage 2 of the Afriquia Merzouga Rally has concluded and Indian rider CS Santosh finished the stage in the 21st place, with his teammate Joaquim Rodrigues finishing the stage in the 11th place.

Stage 2 of the 2016 Afriquia Merzouga Rally was 340km long with a 180km special test stretch. The Stage 2 win was taken by Gerard Farres Guell astride a KTM. CS Santosh's teammate, Rodrigues was also handed out a 30 minute penalty on Monday evening after he missed a waypoint.

After stage 2 of the 2016 Afriquia Merzouga Rally, CS Santosh is in the 18th place and teammate Rodrigues is in the 11 place in the overall standings.

Commenting about the second stage, CS Santosh said, "Today was one of the longest days of the rally. My navigation was good in the dunes. I paid close attention to the roadbook and that went alright. I got a little lost on two occasion, but the overall feeling remains very positive."

Stage 3 of the 2016 Afriquia Merzouga Rally is the Marathon stage, where riders will have to service their own bikes in a basic level. Stay tuned for updates.
