Harley-Davidson Could Be Taken Over By New Owners KKR
Harley-Davidson Inc. recently witnessed a spike in the market share. This increase in market share accounted for 20 percent increase. Rumours have been doing the round in the United States that the iconic two-wheeler manufacturer could be taken over by a new owner.
Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, a private-equity firm plans to take over Harley-Davidson. A sudden takeover could alter the future plans for the American-based cruiser bike manufacturer. It would also mean that several individuals within the management would be replaced.
During 2010-2011, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts was interested in buying out Harley-Davidson Inc. Back then as well, stock value increased for a short period and a buyout was not made. An investigation was carried out if stock price manipulation was created by the buyout rumours.
Currently, Harley-Davidson is not facing bankruptcy and even sales are decent. We believe that the takeover to only be a rumour and nothing more. Mainly, the Harley-Davidson brand is more popular than their motorcycle range in the global market.
