Dani Pedrosa Fractures Right Collarbone During Japanese FP2 Session
Dani Pedrosa was involved in a huge highside during Free Practice two. Clinica Mobilia has confirmed that the Spaniard has fractured his right collarbone. Repsol Honda has confirmed that Dani Pedrosa will not be taking part in Motegi GP and will head back to Spain for rehabilitation.
So far, Honda has not been able to pinpoint as to why Dani Pedrosa experienced the highside. Valentino Rossi and several riders believe it was a sharp decrease in track temperature that caused multiple accidents during Free Practice two.
At this point, it is unclear if Dani Pedrosa would make a return or not during 2016. Pedrosa will undergo surgery to repair the fractured collarbone. It is most likely that Dani Pedrosa will miss out on Japanese GP, Australian GP, and Malaysian GP.
Current HRC test rider, Hiroshi Aoyama will be riding in place of Dani Pedrosa. This will be a tough task for Aoyama as he will be taking up the job on an extremely short notice. Pressure to perform well will be on Aoyama's shoulder as it is his and Honda's home race.
Hiroshi Aoyama will not be able to adorn his racing number '7', which has been taken by Mike Jones. The Japanese rider has thus confirmed race number '73' for Motegi GP. It is the same number that he adorned during his first season in the 250cc class.
