The only Indian in the history of Dakar Rally, CS Santosh has reached his destination for this year's Rally, that will kick off on January 3, 2016. CS Santosh will be riding a Suzuki 450 rally motorcycle, and his competition number is 56. Posted above is the Bangalore rider's first video from Dakar.
CS Santosh will be supported by Suzuki India, Ceat Tyres, and Red Bull. CS Santosh is confident of improving his overall ranking this time and has set a target to finish under 20. Last year, being the first time to race in Dakar, CS Santosh finished at an impressive 36th place.
The Dakar Rally 2016 will be held in two countries, Argentina and Bolivia and the participants will be riding through a total distance of 9,000km. For the 2016 season, there will be a total of 152 participants in the motorcycle category.
Apart from motorcycles, the 2016 Dakar Rally will also have participants competing in the Quad, Car, and Truck categories. Stay tuned to DriveSpark as we bring you live updates from the Rally.
