Cal Crutchlow To Undergo Hand Surgery; Skips Final 2016 Test
LCR Honda confirms Cal Crutchlow will miss out on the final pre-season testing during 2016. Crutchlow needs to undergo surgery on his hand, which is hampering his riding and competitiveness.
Cal Crutchlow will miss out on the final 2016 MotoGP testing session with Honda Racing. The British rider will be undergoing surgery on his right hand. His middle finger on the right-hand needs to be mended and Crutchlow wants to be in best of form for 2017 Championship.
LCR Honda rider also needs surgery on both his knees. However, Cal Crutchlow has opted not to have surgery on his knee and hand. Crutchlow has recently become a father and believes if he has surgery on his knee and hand, he would not be able to pick his child.
Honda is providing Cal Crutchlow with more support for 2017 MotoGP Championship. At the Valencia pre-season test, Crutchlow tested out several Repsol Honda parts and components. So far, LCR Honda and Crutchlow have witnessed an impressive testing phase in Valencia.
Marc Marquez, Dani Pedrosa, and Cal Crutchlow have tested the 2017 Honda race machine. The new bike has both positives and negatives. Luckily, all three top Honda riders are citing similar issues and praising the same aspects, which allows Honda to work in one direction.
During 2016 MotoGP Championship, Cal Crutchlow won on two occasions. Crutchlow has impressed both Honda as well as LCR owners. The team and Honda have high expectations from Cal Crutchlow next year and could be a Championship contender.
