Bridgestone Tyres Now Available For Two-Wheelers In India
Japanese tyre manufacturer Bridgestone has entered the Indian two-wheeler tyre market. Bridgestone will sell tyres for bikes and scooters across India under the 'NERUN' brand.
Bridgestone is one of the leading two-wheeler tyre manufacturers in the world and was the sole tyre supplier for Moto GP from 2009 to 2015.
Bridgestone will offer the 'NERUN' brand of tyres in five different tyres sizes and nine SKUs which will cater to 70 percent of the market demand. The tyres are now available at all Bridgestone dealers across the country.
Bridgestone India Managing Director Kazuhiko Mimura said, "The launch of two-wheeler tyre brand NEURUN is a big leap for us towards achieving our strategic expansion plan of catering to a high volume market and a wider audience reach. Our entry into the ever growing two-wheeler market in India will facilitate us in providing a wider product range and services to our customers. We are looking forward to this exciting new phase and hope to expand with the subsequent growth in the market."
India is one of the largest automobile markets in the world and therefore is a huge market for tyre manufacturers.
The two-wheeler market is growing at around 8.5 percent every year and there are an estimated 150 million two-wheelers on Indian roads today, something which Bridgestone says is a testimony to the huge potential of tyre demand in the country.
