The six-cylinder BMW motorcycle came in 2012, giving a competition in the Luxury Tourer segment. BMW Motorrad has added all the luxurious comfort for dynamic touring at the very highest level.
The new engine is Euro-6 compliant. The 1600GT is up to date both technically and aesthetically. We must sharpen our eyes to seize the differences of the new model with the previous generation, but in doing so we will notice the new side sections of fairing and wider flaps.
There are three new colors (mars rot metallic, metallic Blackstorm and lupin blue metallic/metallic Blackstorm) that help to identify the novelty. Also, the instrumentation is different, with new dials and the K1600GT logo on the tachometer.
Talking about the powerplant, it remains unchanged, with its usual values of 180bhp and 175Nm of torque.
The biggest change is the new semi-active suspension Dynamic ESA and there is electro-assisted Pro (optional gearbox, able to support the graft as much as climbing) and the system intelligent emergency call (eCall).
In case of emergency, it automatically transmits data related to the position, and also the coordinates of the place of the accident by activating the rescue measures.
All options are collected in two packages that can be ordered straight from the factory : the Safety Package includes Adaptive Headlights, daytime running lights, tire pressure control RDC, Hill Start Control.
And the Comfort package instead adds electro Pro assisted gearbox, central locking, alarm system, keyless start and the additional LED projector.
