2016 EICMA Motorcycle Show: BMW Surprises Everyone With HP4 Race
“The HP4 RACE will feature the full carbon fibre main frame and carbon fibre rims as shown here.”
At
EICMA,
Ducati
claimed
that
they
are
the
only
manufacturer
to
produce
a
motorcycle
with
the
carbon
frame.
But
BMW
Motorrad
had
other
ideas
and
it
unveiled
the
HP4
Race
which
has
twin-spar
carbon
fibre
frame.
The HP4 Race will be a limited production model and will hit the markets in 2017. The model is based on company's most successful S1000RR superbike. The model also sports carbon fibre wheels.
BMW said in a press release, "It was initially left open as to how far the advanced prototype reflected what the final motorcycle would look like.
"It is also certain that the BMW HP4 Race will be manufactured by hand in an exclusive limited series and supplied in the second half of 2017."
Stephan Schaller, President, BMW Motorrad added, "The HP4 RACE will feature the full carbon fibre main frame and carbon fibre rims as shown here. We will reveal more about this model next spring."
The company hasn't released any information on any engine changes, power figures or a final weight. We have to wait to get more details about this carbon fibre beauty.
