BMW G310R Will Be Equipped With Michelin Tyres
Michelin India recently announced that they will be focussing on the Indian market. They plan on capturing ten percent of the total two-wheeler tyre market within the following years. Gary Guthrie, President, Michelin two-wheel tyre division was present at the announcement of their first TVC/brand campaign in the country.
The French-based tyre manufacturer now has confirmed to us that the BMW G310R will be equipped with their tyres as standard/ OEM fitting. Michelin India is working with BMW Motorrad and TVS Motors for the tyre that will be used on the entry-level motorcycle.
Tyres are getting more complicated and the tyre construction is important. Michelin engineers develop tyres with manufacturers to extract maximum performance and endurance from the tyre and motorcycle. Suspension, load, and road conditions are also taken into account while developing a tyre for specific motorcycles.
Michelin India also confirmed that they have partnered with Harley-Davidson for their export products. Currently, they are offering tyres that are fitted to the Street 500 and Street 750 cruisers. At this moment, only the Street 750 is available in the Indian market, which is fitted with Michelin tyres.
An all-new range of two-wheeler tyres from Michelin will be offered for India as well. They have also forayed into the scooter segment to achieve higher sales with the Michelin City Pro. Motorcycles will have a wider range of tyres to choose from based on use and longevity.
