BMW Motorrad has confirmed the launch of its adventure motorcycle G310GS by the end of 2017
BMW G310GS made its global debut at the EICMA 2016 last week and raised the curiosity levels in the Indian market.
The G310GS adventure motorcycle from BMW is based on the naked G310R and the GS is the entry level adventure tourer. Both the motorcycles will be manufactured by TVS Motor at their Hosur facility.
BMW Motorrad has confirmed that the G310GS will be launched by the end of 2017 in India with the company tweeting about the launch.
The motorcycles, the entry-level adventure motorcycle and the naked street sport bike will be made-in-India and exported to global markets.
TVS Motor has entered an agreement to manufacture the motorcycles which BMW Motorrad has developed.
The South-India based motorcycle manufacturer will also use the technology to develop its own version of sport bike and will be known as the Akula 310. The bike is a fully faired sports bike and will rival the likes of KTM RC390.
The BMW G310GS will be powered by the same mill as the G310R of 313cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine. The engine punches out 34bhp and 28Nm of peak torque. The engine will be paired with the 6-speed manual gearbox.
The BMW G310GS gets an upside down telescopic fork, rear mono shocks single disc brake on both the wheels with ABS and tyres will be of Michelin.
We expect the BMW G310GS to be priced competitively in price range of Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh ex-showroom.
Once launched, the BMW G310GS will rival the Mahindra Mojo, Royal Enfield Himalayan, and the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure and Kawasaki X300 Versys.
