Spied: Benelli Tornado 302 Caught Testing On Indian Roads
The faired version of the Benelli Tornado 302 was first teased at the EICMA 2015 in Milan, Italy. The manufacturer was expected to launch the compact supersport motorcycle in India later this year.
Shirish Kulkarni, MD, DSK Motowheels, has confirmed that the motorcycle will be offered with ABS. However, we're still not sure if the company will provide the safety feature as standard or optional.
The motorcycle was initially showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the Tornado 302, which is basically a fully faired version of the TNT 300, features a twin-element headlamp cluster, supersport-inspired windscreen, and engine cowls.
The Benelli Tornado 302 borrows the trellis frame and 300cc parallel-twin from the TNT 300 street fighter. The Tornado 302 will also share the 6-speed gearbox from the TNT.
The engine on the Tornado 302 is good to produce 35bhp and 27 Nm. Benelli also claims a top speed of 170km/h.
Benelli has also reworked the engine map and exhaust system so that the Tornado 302 now complies with Euro 4 emission norms. The buyers can also opt for a Free Flow Exhaust (FFE) system which gives a 4bhp gain.
The motorcycle also features inverted telescopic fork at the front and mono-shock at the rear. The Tornado will also get twin-disc brakes that are 260 mm in diameter and a 240 mm single disc at the rear.
Benelli is also planning to launch the TRK 502 adventure tourer in India before 2017. Even though we're not sure when the exact launch dates are, we suggest you watch this space for further updates about the motorcycle.
