Benelli Tornado 302 India Launch Delayed To March-April 2017
The launch of Benelli Tornado 302 in India has been delayed to March-April 2017.
Italian motorcycle manufacturer Benelli's Indian wing DSK Benelli has postponed the launch of Tornado 302 to March-April 2017. Earlier the fully faired motorcycle was expected to launch by December 2016.
Reports suggest that the delay in launch is caused to equip the motorcycle with ABS. As per the new regulations from Government of India, the motorcycles above 125cc must be equipped with ABS from April 2017.
It is expected that DSK Benelli will commence the bookings of the Tornado 302 by March 2017. Initially, the motorcycle was expected to be launched by 2016 festive season and again it was delayed to December 2016.
The new Benelli Tornado 302 was first showcased at the 2015 EICMA Motorcycle Show. The motorcycle features modern design additions that are appealing to young riders.
The new motorcycle from Benelli sits on a newly designed trellis frame which is lighter and results in better handling, especially around corners.
The Tornado 302 is powered by 300cc twin cylinder four valve DOHC engine which produces 36bhp and 27Nm of peak torque. The engine is coupled to a six-speed gearbox. The top speed of the motorcycle is said to over 170km/h.
It is expected that DSK Benelli may rename the motorcycle as 302 R for the Indian market. The fully faired motorcycle from Benelli will go head on against the likes of Yamaha YZF-R3 and Kawasaki Ninja 300.
