Bajaj V15 Clocks The 1 Lakh Sales Milestone In India
Bajaj's latest motorcycle, the V15 has clocked the 1 lakh sales milestone in India. The motorcycle was launched in India a few months ago and Bajaj has seen an overwhelming response for the model since its launch.
The response to the V15 was so much that it clocked 20,000 bookings in the first week of its launch. The motorcycle also become one of the top 10 selling motorcycles in India within two months since its launch.
One of the key factors that helped the motorcycle sell well in the Indian market was the fact that Bajaj used the steel from the INS Vikrant, India's first aircraft carrier battleship to make parts of the motorcycle. Another key factor is the pricing - Rs. 62,002 ex-showroom (Delhi), which is really affordable for a 150cc motorcycle.
Powering the Bajaj V15 is a 149.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 11.8bhp and 13Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Based on the success of the V15, Bajaj now has plans to make more powerful versions of the motorcycle, which will soon be launched in India.
