S. Ravikumar, President, Business Development, Bajaj Auto, confirmed this in an interview to CNBC-TV18. The reason behind this delay is to focus on the festive season and cater the customer needs. Although Bajaj has not stated any fixed date of launch, it's speculated that Pulsar VS400 will be launched early next year.
The Pulsar VS400 was first showcased as a concept model called as CS400 at 2014 Auto Expo. Later on the production version was named as VS400. There has been no major changes to the motorcycle from concept version, except for the upside-down forks were replaced with conventional telescopic forks.
The Pulsar VS400 is powered by 373.2cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which pumps out 35bhp of power. The engine is based on KTM Duke 390. VS400 gets a 6-speed gearbox. ABS may also be offered as an optional feature. The Pulsar VS400 is expected to be priced at Rs 1.8 lakh ex-showroom for the standard version and ABS equipped version may cost a bit more.
