Bajaj Pulsar AS200 And AS150 Temporarily Discontinued — Will Be Relaunched With BSIV Engine
Bajaj has temporarily discontinued the Pulsar AS200 and AS150 models and it will be relaunched in the Indian market with BSIV engine.
Bajaj Auto is in a transformation mode as far as the Pulsar brand is concerned. The entire Pulsar family will be updated to meet the BSIV norms which will be implemented from 2017.
Bajaj will be introducing the updated models one by one in the Indian market. The latest one to get this treatment is the recently launched Pulsar AS200 and AS150.
Bajaj dealerships have already confirmed that they are not accepting booking for the AS200 and AS150 across the country. But dealers with the stock of either of the models are still selling the models with discount.
Discontinuing the Pulsar AS series was an unexpected move from the manufacturer. As it was the third model to get pulled out of the market. Although Bajaj has not confirmed about the Pulsar AS series being discontinued from the market.
The Pulsar AS200 and AS150 are expected to be relaunched in India in 2017 with new engines which are compliant with the new BSIV emission norms. Apart from that, there will be no other major changes made to the motorcycle.
Launched in 2015, the Pulsar AS series have not been on par in terms of sales. But the models were a satisfactory product for the company in India. Nothing much has been revealed on the technical aspects of the new BSIV engines.
The Pulsar 150 will be also getting a similar makeover with the BS4 engine and new decals. We have already seen the Pulsar 180 and 220F with minor upgrades which are ready to be launched.
But Bajaj's best bet in the premium motorcycle segment will be the soon to be launched Bajaj Kratos VS400. Bajaj will also get a new brand decades after the domination of Pulsar in India.
But there is no word from Bajaj about the introduction of the popular Pulsar NS200. The motorcycle was discontinued apparently for no reason which was performing very well in the market.
