Bajaj Gets A New Brand — Kratos VS400 To Be Launched Soon
After
more
than
a
decade
of
the
creation
of
the
Pulsar
brand
Bajaj
has
broken
the
Pulsar
boundary.
Yes,
Bajaj
has
created
a
new
brand
called
as
Kratos
to
launch
its
all-new
VS
400
motorcycle.
First showcased at 2014 Auto Expo named as Pulsar CS 400, the motorcycle became the popular talk in the country. Later on, it was confirmed that it will be called as VS 400 where VS stands for Vantage Sports. Now it has also shed the Pulsar branding too. Instead, it will be called as the Kratos VS 400.
The name Kratos stands for Greek God of war. Which perfectly suits the motorcycle, as the name Bajaj is providing power to the masses with their Pulsar brand for more than a decade.
Bajaj also plans to build a higher displacement motorcycle under this brand to take on Royal Enfield. Bajaj decided to drop the Pulsar name because a cruiser with Pulsar branding will be equal to a 150cc Royal Enfield as stated by Rajiv Bajaj recently.
In terms of styling not much has been done from the concept version. Only noticeable change is the normal forks instead of the upside-down forks. The power comes from KTM dUKE 390 borrowed 373cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine which produces 34.5bhp and is slightly tuned differently for cruising.
The motorcycle is expected to launch in the month of November. The Kratos will also come with optional dual channel ABS, an important feature in this segment. It is expected to be launched with a price tag of Rs 1.6 to Rs 1.7 lakh ex-showroom.
