Finally the launch of Bajaj's most awaited motorcycle, the Kratos 400 has been confirmed. The motorcycle will be launched this year.
Bajaj's most anticipated motorcycle the Kratos 400 is finally confirmed to be launched this year. After a lot of speculation about the launch, the Kratos 400 will finally enter the Indian market in 2016.
It was a roller-coaster ride since the motorcycle was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. The motorcycle went through a lot of changes in terms of branding and launch date.
But this time it has been officially confirmed that Bajaj Kratos 400 will be launched in 2016 and we can expect the Kratos to go on sale by the end of November or early December.
Bajaj's 400cc motorcycle was first showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo with the name Pulsar CS400. After that, there has been a lot of speculations about the branding of the motorcycle.
Initially it was expected that the motorcycle will be launched as Pulsar VS400, VS stands for Vantage Sport. But later Bajaj confirmed that the motorcycle will be launched under the new brand called Kratos.
The Kratos 400 will be the flagship motorcycle of Bajaj being the most powerful in the product portfolio of the company. It shares the KTM Duke 390's 373.2cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine.
But the engine is tuned slightly differently which will produce around 35bhp, the engine will also feature Bajaj's triple-spark technology. The motorcycle will be also equipped with slipper-clutch to improve performance.
The production version of the Kratos 400 is almost identical to the concept version. It gets telescopic front forks instead of the upside down forks and dual channel ABS is expected to be offered as an option.
The Kratos 400 will be launched in cruiser segment in India. Which means the motorcycle will go head on with the likes of Royal Enfield and other upcoming motorcycles in this segment. The Kratos 400 is expected to come with a price tag of around Rs 1.60 to 1.80 lakh ex-showroom.
