Bajaj’s Co-Bots Have Increased Women Workforce — This Is How
Since the year 2010, Bajaj has been using robots called Co-bots (collaborative robots) for the production line. The robots sure have helped Bajaj build motorcycles, but has also increased the number of women working for the company.
Vikas Sawhney, General Manager, Robotics and Automation has confirmed that there are at least 120 Co-bots in the plant and they have increased productivity for Bajaj.
The robots used by Bajaj are manufactured by a Danish robotics company called Universal Robots. These easy to handle robots take care of operations like welding to decal application. These robots are compact, safe, and can do repetitive tasks with precision.
Following the success of the Co-bots used by Bajaj, Universal Robots has opened shop in India a year ago.
