Bajaj Auto Developing Avenger 400 Cruiser For Indian Market
Bajaj Auto is most likely to be developing an all-new cruiser for the Indian market. Currently, the Indian two-wheeler giant offers three variants of their Avenger cruiser. The all-new Avenger is most likely to be their Halo model within the cruiser category for Bajaj.
An all-new Avenger 400 model could be in the works at Bajaj's facility in Chakan, Pune. This new cruiser model from Bajaj is most likely to take on Royal Enfield and the upcoming UM Motorcycles in the Indian market.
Powering the Avenger 400 is most likely to be the 374cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine used by KTM for the 390 Duke and RC390 models. Bajaj engineers will tune this engine to take care of cruising duties. The performance figures also could vary from their performance machines.
In terms of design, we expect that the Bajaj Avenger 400 will maintain familiarity to its siblings. Bajaj Auto has done an excellent job with the new Avenger cruiser range and could replicate their success with a higher displacement cruiser bike for the Indian market.
The Avenger 400 if Bajaj decides to call it that, will be priced extremely competitively. Bajaj Auto could also introduce this cruiser bike in several international markets. The Indian two-wheeler giant plans on introducing several higher displacement models in the near future.
