Aprilia SR 150 Is The Bestselling Piaggio Scooter — Outpaces Vespa Range Of Scooters
Aprilia SR 150 becomes the bestselling Piaggio scooter in India beating the Vespa range of scooters.
Aprilia SR 150 was launched in India in August 2016. And in October the premium, sporty scooter has become the best selling scooter in India beating the Vespa range of scooters.
The Aprilia SR 150 has sold 3,403 units since its launch in August. Whereas the Vespa range has recorded sales figure of 2,700 units for the month of October with four percent decline in year-on-year sales.
The Aprilia SR 150 and Vespa scooters are manufactured at the Piaggio India plant n Baramati, Maharashtra.
The Aprilia SR 150 is a sporty looking scooter with aggressive design cues. It is powered by 150cc engine. The scooter made its India debut at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi.
The SR 150 is the maiden scooter from Aprilia and its design cues are inspired by RSV 4 1000 RF Factory motorcycle. It sports motorcycle like handling and aggressively designed.
The Aprilia SR 150 draws power from 154.4cc single cylinder air cooled engine which is mated to CVT(continuously variable transmission). The same engine powers the Vespa 150 scooter.
The engine produces 10.4bhp of power and a peak torque of 11.4Nm. The scooter also features dual barrel headlamps, split grab rail, stylish taillight and 14-inch alloy wheels.
The braking department is handled by a 220mm disc at the front and 140mm drum at the rear. The suspension includes telescopic front fork and single arm suspension at the rear. The scooter is offered with a price tag of Rs 67,950 (ex-showroom Delhi).
