Aprilia SR Motard 125 Spotted At Dealership — Launching In India?
Italian bikemaker Aprilia is set to launch the SR 150 in India soon and our sources have confirmed that the scooter will launch post August 15.
The new SR 150 will be available in black and white, while another colour (Red) is also on the cards. The SR 150 can currently be booked at Vespa dealerships for a booking amount of Rs. 5,000 and our sources tell us that new scooter will be priced at Rs. 78,000 (on-road).
However, what was even more interesing was the presence of another Aprilia, the SR Motard 125, at a dealership that was spotted by a hawk-eyed Drivespark reader.
The SR Motard 125 uses a 124cc engine that produces 9.46bhp @ 8,500rpm and 8.2Nm of torque @ 7,500rpm.
The SR Motard 125 has a steel tube frame and features telescopic front forks and a mono-shock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a 220mm disc up front, and a 140mm drum brake at the rear. The SR Motard 125 sits on 14-inch alloy wheels.
The only major visual difference between the SR Motard 125 and the SR 150 seems to be in the form of the '125' sticker, was missing from the front apron of the Motard 125, for quite obvious reasons.
It is still not known whether the SR Motard 125 will be coming to India or not, however, our sources have told us that the SR Motard 125 scooter does seem to be here in India for test purposes.
If Aprilia does launch the SR Motard 125 in India and keeps with aggressive pricing we've seen with the SR 150, the new scooter could very well give the current market leaders Honda, the fright of their lives.
