Sam Lowes & Aleix Espargaro To Ride For Aprilia MotoGP Team
The Aprilia Racing Team Gresini has announced two new riders for the 2017 MotoGP campaign. Moto2 Championship leader Sam Lowes and MotoGP rider Aleix Espargaro have been paired together by the Italian two-wheeler outfit.
Aleix Espargaro had a successful run with Team Suzuki Ecstar for over two years now. He was recently replaced by Moto2 rookie Alex Rins at the Japanese factory outfit. For some reason, Aleix Espargaro and Suzuki did not want to continue the partnership forward.
Currently, Stefan Bradl and Alvaro Bautista are riding for Aprilia Racing Team Gresini. At this moment, both riders have not been able to improve the situation of their bikes. Sam Lowes and Aleix Espargaro are expected to help Aprilia develop and make the machine competitive.
The 2017 MotoGP Championship will witness a major shift in teams and riders. Several top riders will also be swapping teams in hope for a better experience. It is currently unclear which team Stefan Bradl and Alvaro Bautista will join for the next season.
