Suzuki Racing Confirms Alex Rins Sustains Injury At Valencia Test
Alex Rins has injured his back during Team Suzuki Racing’s pre-season testing. Rins will not be able to ride a motorcycle for a minimum period of a month.
Ecstar Suzuki has been conducting pre-season testing with their new and test riders at the Valencia circuit. Moto2 Rookie Alex Rins is Team Suzuki Racing's new star, alongside Andrea Iannone. Alex Rins was caught out in a heavy accident during his second test on MotoGP machinery.
Unfortunately, Alex Rins has sustained back injury during his MotoGP testing with Suzuki. Doctors have confirmed that Rins has two compressed vertebrae. Alex Rins has now been shifted to Barcelona for further evaluation and treatment.
This means that Alex Rins will be out of action and will have to rest completely. Rins is likely to miss out the second outing on his Suzuki during 2016. He is likely to make a comeback to Suzuki Racing during January 2017, for the Sepang MotoGP pre-season test.
Suzuki GSX-RR 2017 development was carried out by Andrea Iannone and test rider Takuya Tsuda. Iannone proved that his Suzuki is potent and can win races, he managed to set fourth fastest lap time. Team officials are impressed with Iannone, as he has transitioned well with Suzuki.
