The updated 2017 KTM Duke 200 will be launched in India by mid-2017.
Austrian motorcycle maker KTM co-owned by Bajaj Auto is speculating to launch the Duke 200 in India by mid-2017. The 200cc motorcycle was not revealed at the 2016 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan.
Although the company website revealed the information and images of the most popular 200cc motorcycle in India. Before the 200cc Duke enters the Indian market, the Duke 390 will be launched in January 2017.
The 2017 KTM Duke 200 gets a more aggressive and edgier look as its elder sibling the Duke 390. But the sad part is, Duke 200 does not get the bifurcated headlamps as the Duke 390.
The Duke 200 features redesigned bottom-protruding headlamp with LED inserts. The rest of the design cues are inspired by the 1290 Super Duke with sharper looks.
The fuel tank of the Duke 200 has been overhauled and the extensions from the tank protrude longer. The key slot has been moved to fuel tank. The pillion grab rail also moves to the front.
Another major change is the underbelly exhaust gets replaced by the full sized exhaust. The new Duke 200 is powered by a 199.5cc liquid cooled single cylinder DOHC engine.
The engine produces maximum power of 26bhp which is a slight increase in power compared to the current model. The engine is coupled to a six-speed transmission.
The Duke 200 sits on a lightweight steel trellis frame The suspension department is handled by the upside-down telescopic fork at front and WP mono shock suspension at the rear.
The current KTM Duke 200 is priced at Rs 1.43 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and the new 2017 motorcycle will be slightly expensive. The expected price for the 2017 Duke 200 is in the range of Rs 1.45 lakh to Rs 1.55 lakh.
