Yamaha MT-15 Spy Shots Reveal Keyless Ignition System
Yamaha MT-15 naked street fighter spied without any camouflage in Indonesia. This new motorcycle will sport several new and advanced technologies. One of the main features of the MT-15 will be a Keyless Ignition System.
The Keyless Ignition System will receive a unique RFID key fob, which will send a message to the bike when around. The message will unlock the bike and allow the rider to start the motorcycle without using his key.
Powering the MT-15 will be a 149.8cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The engine will be tuned to produce 16bhp and 15Nm of torque; the engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
MT-15 will share several components with the YZF-R15 motorcycle. Both motorcycles will receive the Deltabox chassis along with the swingarm and rear mono shock. Surprisingly, the MT-15 will get an inverted upside down front fork with gold plating.
Other new features include a sculpted new fuel tank, handlebar, LED taillights, LED headlights, and turn indicators. Foot pegs have been revised for an upright seating posture. Yamaha will also provide the new MT-15 with integrated grab rails.
Yamaha will be launching the MT-15 motorcycle in Indonesia primarily. So far, there is no news of the naked streetfighter coming to India anytime soon. However, if industry rumours are to be believed, Yamaha will be soon launching the MT-03 in India, which is a naked version of the YZF-R3.
