Yamaha Factory Team Wins Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race
On 26th of July, 2015 38th edition of Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance race was held in Japan. Yamaha was making their comeback as a factory once again, the last time they did so was back in 2002.
Yamaha was focussed on winning and set up a dream team who would ride their all-new YZF-R1. From MotoGP Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith, who ride for Monster Tech3 were given the honour.
The third rider and most experienced individual in this team is Katsuyuki Nakasuga. Yamaha created history by setting the fastest lap time and also winning the endurance challenge.
Owing to sheer speed and courage displayed by Pol Espargaro, the Factory Yamaha team grabbed pole position. It was not easy for the team as a bad start pushed them down and they had to fight for places.
Pol Espargaro also received a stop/go penalty for overtaking during a yellow flag. They somehow managed to keep pushing the Yamaha around the circuit and were surely awarded by a win.
Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer consider this race were important and prestigious. In a way it is like bragging rights to win this endurance race, thus proving that your motorcycle is built to last and can take a beating without any hiccups.
