Yamaha Dominates Suzuka 8 Hours Practice Session
The iconic Suzuka 8 Hours race in going to be contested from 25th to 26th of July, 2015. This is the 38th edition of Suzuka 8 Hours and is an important battle amongst Japanese competitors.
Yamaha is taking part this year as a factory team with their latest YZF-R1 model. Piloting this superbike are three riders Pol Espargaro, Bradley Smith and Katsuyuki Nakasuga.
It is the first time since 2002 that Yamaha has participated as a factory team in Suzuka 8 Hours challenge. So far Yamaha has dominated the practice session and their fastest lap time was set by Pol Espargaro.
Suzuka 8 Hours challenge is not only about going fast, it is about consistency and endurance. Yamaha currently seem poised and equipped to win as they have set a fastest which was a second faster than last years lap record.
Casey Stoner will also be making a comeback to two-wheelers, he is not re-entering the sport. It is just one of the things he always wanted to do and Honda has provided him with an opportunity.
Surprisingly the Australian double MotoGP Champion still has the spark in him. Stoner set the fastest lap time during practice for his team, however, it was only third fastest.
