UM Motorcycles To Be Launched In India During 2016 Auto Expo
UM Motorcycles had showcased its two-wheeler range at 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi. Since then there has been constant talk as to when their motorcycles will be introduced in the country.
American based two-wheeler manufacturer has now displayed interest to launch a few products at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo. They will be partnering with Lohia Auto Industries to manufacture and sell their motorcycles.
Most likely launches at 2016 Auto Expo by UM Motorcycles will be Renegade series of two-wheelers. Renegade Sport, Renegade Commando and one other will be introduced primarily.
These motorcycles will be manufactured in Uttarakhand at Lohia Auto's facility. They will have a decent production output of 1,00,000 units per year, which seems to be adequate initially.
UM Motorcycles will be developing 300 to 400cc engines for their Renegade series. They will be competing head on with India's most trusted brand for cruiser motorcycles, Royal Enfield.
They will now have to focus on setting up their dealerships and service outlets to cater to demands. UM Motorcycles will have a tough time, however, pricing will be key in their success.
