TVS Apache 200 Coming In 2016 & Will Be Based On Draken Concept
TVS Motors has joined BMW in a strategic partnership for their future products. The Indo-German duo is developing a 300cc motorcycle, which will share a platform.
At the 2014 Auto Expo TVS had showcased a street fighter concept motorcycle, which was christened ‘Draken'. Now the Indian manufacturer will use this model to develop its very first 200cc Apache.
Currently TVS Motors offers two versions of their Apache motorcycle in India. This includes both 160cc and 180cc displacements, and both motorcycles share similar bodywork and design elements.
This new 200cc Apache will not be launched prior to 2016 and it is most likely that TVS will showcase a production ready model at 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi.
TVS Motors will provide their 200cc Apache with a single cylinder engine, along with liquid cooling. The engine will be paired to a slick 6-speed gearbox. This new Apache will develop 28 horsepower and 20 Nm of torque.
The Apache 200 will compete with mighty Bajaj and KTM who offer the 200 NS and Duke 200 respectively. It will be interesting to see how TVS Motors fairs against this duo in terms of performance, styling and pricing.
