Triumph Motorcycles unveiled its updated range of Bonneville for 2016. Previously, the Bonneville range consisted of only three models, i.e., Bonneville, Bonneville T100, and Thruxton.
For 2016, the Triumph Bonneville range will have five new models, i.e., the Street Twin (900cc), Bonneville T120, and Bonneville T120 Black (1200cc); Truxton, and Thruxton R (1200cc). The new range of Bonevilles' will feature new engines, tyres, chassis, and several other upgrades.
Powering the Street Twin is an all-new 900cc, parallel twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox and produces 80Nm of peak torque.
Bonneville T120 & T120 Black
The new Bonneville T120 and T120 Black, receives an all-new engine. Triumph Motorcycles has provided both bikes with a 1200cc parallel twin, liquid-cooled engine. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and produces a whopping 105Nm of peak torque output.
Triumph Thruxton & Thruxton R
The Triumph Thruxton and Thruxton R will be powered by the same (1200cc) engine provided in the Bonneville T120 and T120 Black. The engine is mated to 6-speed gearbox and produces 120Nm of torque.
Triumph Motorcycles has provided each model with its own unique characteristic. Bonneville T120 and T120 Black maintain retro styling with a modern engine, it follows the philosophy and mentality set by the Bonneville T100.
The Street Twin model is aimed at younger buyers looking for an alternative to Ducati's Scrambler; and owners can easily customise this motorcycle.
Retro Cafe Racers are the current trend, and Triumph has given the 2016 Thruxton and Thruxton R — a modern retro appeal. For the very first time, these models get anti-lock braking system (ABS), riding modes, action control, slip-assist clutch, USB charging point, and ride by wire system.
The new Triumph lineup will be launched through 2016 in India, and the Street Twin is said to launch just after the 2016 Auto Expo in February. Any takers?
