Suzuki Most Likely Developing V-Strom 250 For Several Markets
Suzuki is currently not present in the quarter-litre segment in several markets, which is popular in emerging markets. They had introduced the Inazuma motorcycle in India, which did not have many takers.
The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer is now most likely to be developing V-Strom 250 motorcycle. The quarter-litre segment is a popular choice in India and several other emerging markets.
Engineers are most likely to utilise the engine that has been developed for Inazuma. Suzuki will utilise their parallel twin cylinder 250cc engine, which will be tuned specifically for off-road purposes.
Design wise it will borrow several cues from the V-Strom 650 adventure bike. Suzuki will surely benefit from the inclusion of a quarter-litre adventure bike built for emerging markets.
Currently several of the two-wheeler manufacturers are moving away from the 250cc segment. They are moving at bigger displacement engines to suit and please a wider audience.
KTM is obviously working on an adventure motorcycle based on their Duke 390 model. Kawasaki too is developing an entry level Versys motorcycle for emerging markets and Suzuki's V-Strom 250 will fit perfectly into this equation.
