Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Suzuki has not had a good run in India with all of its products. On the other hand a few of them have really proved their worth. Suzuki India has captured the attention of scooter buyers with their vehicles.
They offer Access, Swish and Let's in India, out of which the Let's is an all new scooter. Suzuki's Access scooter has done decent sales since its inception. The Swish on the flip side did not do that well and sales kept dwindling.
Now Suzuki India has opted to give its Swish scooter a refreshed look. They will bring about minor cosmetic changes to its scooter. These include design change, new alloy wheels, speedometer and the inclusion of disc brakes as well.
Japanese engineers would not be touching the engine of Swish. It will be powered by the same 125cc single cylinder engine. This engine will be capable of producing 8.7 PS of power, along with 9.8 Nm of peak torque. It has a CVT transmission along with a self and kick starter system.
Suzuki believes these changes are necessary to keep up with their target audience. Its competitors have been offering more sharp and race-type looking scooters recently. These new additions will help it compete with more stylish looking Honda Dio and Yamaha Ray/Ray-Z.
The outgoing model is priced at INR 57,620 on-road, Mumbai. Expect a more steeper pricing for their refreshed Swish. Its launch is expected to take place in January, 2015 itself. We will be back with more details and pricing of this new scooter.
