Royal Enfield USA Exclusive Dealership To Open In 2016
Royal Enfield will be inaugurating an all-new exclusive dealership in the United States. This showroom and service outlet will be set up in North America, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Indian two-wheeler manufacturer will be setting up the new facility by the first part of 2016.
Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director and CEO of Eicher Motors has openly expressed his ambition of introducing Royal Enfield as a brand in various international markets. The goal is to make products in India and export them to various international.
At this moment, Royal Enfield will be offering only existing products. They will not be producing special motorcycles for international markets. Currently, Royal Enfield is exporting two-wheelers to Colombia, Europe, Spain, Germany, Dubai, Indonesia, and Australia.
At the moment, the Royal Enfield facility in Oragadam, Chennai has the capacity to manufacture 4.5 lakh models in a year. They will soon be commencing operations at their second manufacturing unit in Vallam Vadagal, Chennai, which will boost production to nine lakh units per year by 2018.
The current Royal Enfield range consists of Continental GT, Thunderbird 350, Thunderbird 500, Classic 350, Classic 500, Classic Chrome, Classic Desert Storm, Classic Battle Green, Bullet 350, Bullet 500, and Bullet Electra.
Royal Enfield is also developing two new engines for international markets, which will be provided to new motorcycle platforms. At the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi, Royal Enfield is most likely to introduce its Himalayan motorcycle, which is an adventure bike.
