MotoGP: Qatar Contract Extended Till 2026
Qatar has extended its contract with MotoGP for another 10 years, till 2026. The races will be held on Losail International Circuit till the contract expires.
Also, the races will be held in the night and will stay as the season opener. Qatar has paid the fees, which will cover all of the costs of all of the flyaway races for all of the teams for the full season.
Qatar first signed up with Dorna Sports, the official promoter of MotoGP in 2004 and became the season opener in 2007. In 2008, the race held here became a night event.
MotoGP officials confirmed the new ten year deal during the Grand Prix of Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain.
Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Attiyah, the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation president was pleased to announce this new deal as well, and also underlined the pride that his nation feels about hosting the races for another ten years.
