Pawan Munjal Becomes Chairman Of Hero MotoCorp
Pawan Munjal becomes the Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, after heading the company for a long time now. Pawan Munjal was unanimously appointed by the board as the company's new Chairman, CEO & Managing Director.
Pawan, now 60, ensured the company remained the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer by sales volume, and also ensured the company was profitable after Honda split.
Pawan Munjal took over the position from long time Chairman and his father, Brijmohan Lall, although he will remain a part of the board as a non-executive director.
Lall has been Chairman of Hero MotoCorp since 1984 and Pawan took over as Managing Director and CEO in 2001, when Honda was still with the company, and Hero Honda became the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer by volume.
Since then, the company has been the largest two-wheeler manufacturer by volume for 14 years in a row. During 2014-15, Hero MotoCorp sold 6.63 million two-wheelers.
