Moto Guzzi V7 Stone Could Be Launched In India Soon
Piaggio was present at the 2015 edition of India Bike Week and it displayed motorcycles from Aprilia and Moto Guzzi, along with scooters from Vespa. Now the Italian manufacturer is contemplating a launch of its Moto Guzzi motorcycle.
Moto Guzzi is planning on launching its V7 Stone for Indian market. They are looking at introducing this retro styled motorcycle in 2015 itself. It seems like the Italian manufacturer is enticed by the success of brands like Triumph and Harley-Davidson in India.
The V7 Stone by Moto Guzzi is powered by a 744cc V-twin engine. This motorcycle has been tuned to deliver 49 horsepower and 58 Nm of peak torque output. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and Moto Guzzi provides disc brakes in the front and rear.
Moto Guzzi currently offers V7 II Racer, V7 II Stone, V7 II Special, California Touring, California Custom, Norge GT 8V, Stelvio NTX 1200 8V, Griso 1200 8V SE, Nevada and 1200 Sport in international markets. The Italian manufacturer would do well if they can get these motorcycle via the Completely Knocked Down route.
The V7 Stone when launched in India will have to compete with a British and American built motorcycle. Moto Guzzi will have to attract buyers who would otherwise choose the Street 750 by Harley-Davidson or the Bonneville by Triumph Motorcycles.
Moto Guzzi is one of the oldest two wheeler manufacturer from Europe, who has been in continuous production. The Italian brand has a rich history and was founded in 1921 by Carlo Guzzi, Giovanni Ravelli and Giorgio Parodi.
