Mahindra Misses Out On Podium Finish In 2015 Season Opener Of Moto3
Mahindra two-wheelers does not have a factory team this year in Moto3 Championship. The Indian manufacturer will be providing engines as well as chassis to several teams.
Mapfre Team Mahindra will be the main team that Mahindra will concentrate all their energy on. It is important for almost every rider and team to begin their championship year on a high note.
Francesco Bagnaia was among the best riders aboard Mahindra's MGP30 Moto3 motorcycle. The young Italian was in contention to secure a podium finish in the season opener at Qatar.
Bagnaia was in third place on the penultimate lap in Qatar. The Italian rider was touched by another motorcycle, which made him lose control and his position, he completed the race and secured ninth place.
Francesco Bagnaia, commented, "This was a most difficult race, because there were so many riders, ten or eleven in the leading group. I did my best, but in the last lap Quartararo touched me, and I went wide. But this is the race, and I could do nothing. We could have made the podium today."
Mufaddal Choonia, CEO, Mahindra Racing, expressed, "I am beginning to wonder when our bad luck is going to run out. But I'm very happy. We've shown today that we can lead races, that we can challenge for the front, that we have a great package with the new bike, and some excellent riders."
