KTM had previously displayed two new motorcycles at the Tokyo Motor Show during March, 2015. These models were expected to be offered in several other new markets for the Austrian brand.
Two quarter-litre motorcycles were introduced based on KTM's Duke and RC range. The 2015 Indonesia Motor Show is currently underway and several manufacturers are showcasing new and upcoming products.
Both motorcycles will be powered by a common KTM engine:
- Engine: 248.8cc single cylinder, liquid-cooled
- Horsepower: 30.85
- Torque: 24Nm
- Gearbox: 6-speed transmission with slipper clutch
In terms of design, they will share almost every component with existing KTM Duke and RC models. The Austrian manufacturer will manufacture both quarter-litre bikes in India and export them.
They will sport bold '250' stickers and graphics across both RC250 and Duke 250 motorcycles. Pricing for the Indonesian market has not been announced so far, but will be revealed soon.
KTM will not be selling the Duke 250 and RC250 in India, Europe and other international markets. It will compete with the likes of the Honda CBR250R and Kawasaki Ninja 250SL.
