Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Kawasaki has an extensive list of products on offer in India. Kawasaki India has recently launched their Versys 1000 adventure bike and plan to introduce several other motorcycles soon. They are currently in partnership with Bajaj Auto and utilize their facility for assembly of their motorcycles.
Kawasaki India offers Ninja 300, Ninja 650, Ninja 1000, Ninja ZX-10R and Ninja ZX-14R. They also offer their Z range of products, which include Z250, Z800, Z1000 and ER-6n models. The Japanese manufacturer plans on introducing more affordable motorcycles soon.
Currently Kawasaki India does not have a strong dealership network. For 2015, the Japanese manufacturer will also focus on growing and improving its dealer network. Currently they have four dealerships and have added their fifth dealership in Kolkata. They will also offer service and other facilities to owners.
The Japanese imports most of its motorcycles in India, which does not allow them to avail the CKD benefits. As a Completely Built Unit is taxed more in India, however, a completely knocked down unit is taxed far less and can be priced lower.
Kawasaki has intruded new and interesting products, however, the pricing has kept many enthusiasts away from these motorcycles. The Ninja 300, which is a parallel twin mill is priced at INR 3,60,916 ex-showroom, Mumbai. This is by far the most expensive bike in its category.
Kawasaki's new showroom is located in Chowringhee road, Kolkata. This is their very first showroom in the North-East and is specifically inaugurated to reach a wider audience. In 2015, the Japanese manufacturer plans to adopt a more aggressive role and expand its network further in to India.
