At the 2014 EICMA motor show, Japanese two-wheeler giant showcased their street legal MotoGP inspired motorcycle. They christened this motorcycle as Honda's RC213V-S.
Present at the showcase were Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa, who ride for Repsol Honda in MotoGP. Both riders have provided their valuable data for development of Honda RC213V-S.
Honda had also showcased this MotoGP derived version in Thailand, which garnered loads of attention. They also had Hiroshi Aoyama ride the bike at Asama Hillclimb proving that production models could be ready.
Yamaha has already launched their new 2015 R1 and R1M superbikes. Aprilia too has introduced their RSV4 RR and RSV4 RF models. Honda is the only manufacturer that has not introduced a flagship motorcycle for 2015.
The RC213V-S will have several components from their MotoGP bike on the street version. Current performance of both Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa could affect value of their new flagship motorcycle.
