Japanese two-wheeler giant Honda had enthralled Indians with their showcase of motorcycles and scooters at the 2014 Auto Expo. They have, however, not launched most of them and have scheduled it for 2015.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has, however, managed to maintain growth in December, 2014. They have revealed their sales report in comparison to December, 2013. They are reporting sales growth of roughly 18 percent.
During December, 2013 the Japanese manufacturer managed to sell a total of 2,96,243 motorcycles and scooter. In the corresponding year of December, 2014 Honda India sold 3,48,737 motorcycles and scooters.
Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India also exports a few products to other countries. In December of 2013 the manufacturer exported 13,559 vehicles. During December, 2014 the Japanese manufacturer managed to export 18,758 vehicles, which was a substantial increase.
The Japanese manufacturer in December, 2014 sold 1,21,489 motorcycles. They also managed to sell 2,08,490 scooter in the same period. During December, 2013 Honda sold only 1,15,537 motorcycles, however, they sold 1,67,147 scooter in the same period.
Honda is expected to launch a slew of new products in 2015. They include refreshed variants of CBR 150R and CBR 250R. The Japanese manufacturer is also planning of introducing its CBR 500R and CBR650F motorcycles for its enthusiasts. They recently launched the Unicorn with a bigger displacement engine to keep up with competition.
