The new Honda CB Hornet 160R features sharp and muscular styling details. This can be best seen in the angular head lamp upfront as well as the muscular fuel tank that features forward leaning shrouds and carbon fibre patterned cover on top. The most distinctive design feature though is found at the back, in the form of a brilliant looking 'X' shaped LED tail lamp. Other striking features include the 5-spoke alloy wheels, and the compact silver finished muffler.
The Honda CB Hornet 160R is powered by an air cooled single cylinder 162.7cc engine that develops 15.6bhp and 14.76Nm of torque and is compatible with Bharat Stage IV emission norms. This power is sent to the rear wheel through a 5-speed gearbox. The CB Hornet 160R returns a mileage of 58.9 km/l.
To bring the bike to a stop, Honda has included twin petal disks for the variant with the Combi-Brake system, while the standard bike gets a disc brake at the front.
To improve its stability, the bike features a longer wheelbase of 1,345mm while the rear wheel has been fitted with a 140mm wide tyre.
The standard version of the CB Hornet 160R is priced at Rs. 79,900 ex-showroom (Delhi) while the variant with the Combi-Brake is priced at 84,400 ex-showroom (Delhi).

For those who want to hear the 162.7cc engine of the CB Hornet 160R, Honda has included a 'Feel The Bike' option in the side slide-out menu. The option allows you to hear the engine as it starts up as well as when the bike is travelling at higher speeds by tapping buttons on the screen. Also included is the sound of the horn.
For users facing a tough choice between the new bike and its rivals, Honda has included a comparison feature as well so that users can compare the CB Hornet 160R to other bikes in the same segment.
Honda also provides on-road prices for the bike as well as a list of dealers for the city the user wants to purchase the new bike in.
The app is a brilliant way of grabbing the attention of the younger crowd as it targets the device that they spend the most amount of time on every day - their smart phones. With the app, Honda has provided everything that a new buyer will want to know and helps them make their decision, all from the convenience of your phone's screen.
Encouraged by the overwhelming response of nearly 35,000 downloads, Honda has advanced its plan to increase availability of bookings via the app by more than two-fold. It will now reach 53 cities across India, up from the initial 21.
The CB Hornet 160R is a bike that stands out from the rest of the crowd and could catapult Honda to greater heights in the Indian Motorcycle market.
Honda's use of an exclusive app for bookings is quite unique in the country and is something that other manufacturers should try out if they want to stay in sync with the new generation of buyers. Additionally, you can also checkout the website.
