Honda Activa Is India’s No.1 Selling Two-Wheeler During March, 2015
You ask any Indian about scooters and the first name to pop out from his mouth has to be Honda's Activa. People swear by this brand and for most Activa is synonymous with scooter.
The Japanese manufacturer has a huge waiting for its Activa due to its popularity. Honda's Activa is the only scooter in the top 10 selling two-wheelers in India.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. or HMSI has achieved selling 2,07,270 units in March, 2015 alone. It has also witnessed highest volume growth among two-wheelers in India of more than 30 percent.
Yadvinder S. Guleria, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, HMSI expressed, "This achievement is more significant since Activa (an ATSC) has displaced a motorcycle for numero uno position in Indian two-wheeler industry."
He further added, "In the journey of becoming India's number one selling two-wheeler, Activa has broken the glass ceiling as the only ATSC to feature in top 10 selling two-wheelers in India."
Currently Honda offers three models in its Activa range for India. These include the Activa-i, Activa 3G and Activa 125. Starting price of this scooter is INR 49,491 and goes up to INR 65,934 ex-showroom, Mumbai.
