Hero Splendor Pro To Get Makeover, To Compete With Honda
Hero MotoCorp will be providing its Splendor Pro with a much-needed facelift. This is being done to counter the introduction of new products from their competitor, mainly Honda.
Previously Hero MotoCorp sold their Splendor in the country as their humble offering. In 2010, the Indian manufacturer replaced this motorcycle with an updated version called the Splendour Pro.
Currently, Splendor accounts for approximately 1,00,000 motorcycles sold in a single year. Hero MotoCorp is the segment leader in terms of durable, affordable and commuter motorcycles for the Indian market.
Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Honda India has revamped their entire range of Dream motorcycles. They have also introduced an all-new commuter motorcycle called ‘Livo' to attract younger and aspirational buyers.
Hero MotoCorp has a good news in store for their valued customers as they claim pricing would not be affected significantly. The Indian manufacturer is expected to raise the price by just Rs. 200 to 250 for their more modern Splendor.
Currently, Hero MotoCorp offers Splendor Pro, Splendor Pro Classic, Super Splendor, Splendor+ and Splendor iSmart motorcycles. Their most affordable product is Splendor Pro which is priced at INR 46,537 (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
Recently the Indian manufacturer showcased their Maestro Edge and Duet scooters. These products are expected to boost Hero MotoCorp sales in the scooter segment and establish them as no.1 two-wheeler seller in the country.
Hero Maestro Edge will be launched in the country on 13th of October 2015. The Duet has not received a launch date so far, however, it is most likely to be introduced within this calendar year.
