We had previously informed you that Hero MotoCorp could acquire Erik Buell Racing. Now the Indian manufacturer has confirmed it will be acquiring EBR's consulting assets.
The deal for acquiring Erik Buell Racing's tangible and intangible assets has been confirmed by Hero MotoCorp. The Indian two-wheeler manufacturer will take ownership for a price of USD 2.8 million.
Erik Buell Racing has been developing future motorcycles for Hero MotoCorp. The HX250R and Hastur were two models that were to be launched soon across Indian markets.
Earlier this year EBR declared bankruptcy and has now delayed launch of both motorcycles. Hero MotoCorp will surely benefit from acquiring assets from the American two-wheeler company.
Currently Hero MotoCorp board members have not decided on which assets to purchase of EBR. They will soon come to a decision and will shed light on this acquisition.
Several Indian two-wheeler manufacturers are tying up with international brands for better products. Bajaj has partnered with KTM, TVS has decided to work with BMW, now Hero MotoCorp will surely benefit by acquiring EBR.
