Hero Maestro Edge Launched In India At Rs 49,500

Hero MotoCorp Maestro Edge scooter launched in India for a starting price of Rs. 49,500/- The company has also showcased the Duet; however, the market launch of the Duet will follow shortly. Both, the Hero Maestro Edge and Duet were showcased during the 2014 Auto Expo.

The all-new Hero Maestro Edge is targeted at young and customers who prefer automatic scooters. The Maestro Edge will compete with the likes of the Honda Aviator and TVS Wego. Hero MotoCorp has developed the new scooter in-house while keeping the global customer in mind. The Maestro Edge made its global debut recently in Colombia (named Dash for the market), during inauguration of Hero's first overseas manufacturing facility; the sales will begin across India from 13th October, 2015.

The scooter is available in two variants — VX and LX. The Maestro Edge scooter is priced at

  • LX - Rs. 49,500/-
  • VX - Rs. 50,700/-

All prices are ex-showroom (Delhi). The difference in price is for the extra features on the VX model such as alloy wheels, telescopic front suspension, body matching mirrors, and USB port.

The all-new Hero scooters (Duet, and Maestro Edge) will be powered by a 110cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which is mated to an automatic gearbox. The engine's horse power and torque figures are good enough for a scooter in this segment: 8.31 horsepower at 8000rpm and 8.3 Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm.

  • Mileage: 63.8 km/litre
  • Underseat storage: 22 litres [can fit a full-face helmet]
  • 12 inch front wheels offer riding comfort and improved stability
  • Integrated braking system (IBS). If the rider applies the rear brake, even the front brake is engaged

The Hero Maestro is offered with premium features such as Key with E-Code, mobile charging port, remote seat opening, remote fuel lid opening, pass switch, service due indicator, side stand indicator, and twin parking lamps. The scooter is also offered in seven exciting colours — Pearl Silver White, Panther Black, Shooting Night Star, Candy Blazing Red, Techno Blue, Matte Vernier Grey, and Matte Black.
