Espargaro & Smith To Ride Yamaha R1 At Suzuka Endurance Race
Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has confirmed that, Yamaha Factory Racing Team will be competing in the Suzuka 8 hours endurance road race.
Yamaha is competing as a factory team after several years. The last time they participated as a factory team was in 2002. They have also announced their rider line-up.
The three riders participating in 38th Coca-Cola Zero Suzuka 8 hour endurance road race. Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith who ride for Tech 3 Yamaha in MotoGP, while the third rider is Katsuyuki Nakasuga.
Team Manager for Yamaha Factory Racing Team at Suzuka will be Wataru Yoshikawa, who commented, "This time we have assembled a great team that really has me personally very excited."
He further added, "Nakasuga is a rider with a wealth of experience racing at Suzuka Circuit and in the Suzuka 8 Hours, and in addition to running fast times, we will need his presence as a team leader to help propel us to victory."
Yamaha will be providing the riders with YZF-R1, which will developed for this endurance race. They will attempt to win for a fifth time in this race's history.
